Before I retired I had a little small holding. Binks was my first bottle raised lamb. His mum decided motherhood was not for her and so she abandoned him. At the time I had a small flock of pet sheep and decided lambing would be fun. It was, but also hard work and heart breaking! Binks came home with me and lived in the house so he could be bottle fed regularly. He slept with Bert the terrier and they became firm friends. He grew well and the time came to put him back with the flock. He wasn’t having any of that and cried and bleated and stood at the gate demanding to come back home with us. A compromise was found and he had his own stable in the yard. Every morning I would arrive and call out to him “Morning Mr Binks” he would bleat his welcome and have the free run of the yard until it was home time when he would have a fuss and be told “Goodnight Mr Binks, I will see you in the morning ok”. He would take himself off to his stable for the night. Sadly Binks started to feel poorly when he was 8 months old and on the vets recommendation we gave him an additional wormer. The next day he was very Ill and it was decided to send him off to rainbow bridge. He was the most precious soul and is so very dearly missed. So when you visit Binks Bungalow you will find many sheepy things and a few reminders of a special little lamb called Binks
